About Me

Hi there. My name is Jessica. I am a licensed professional counselor and art therapist in Bethesda, Maryland with over 7 years of experience in the mental health field and a prior background in K-12 education. I help my adult clients learn how to thrive in all areas of their lives, not just on the surface or until something else blows up in their faces, but in meaningful and lasting ways that are rooted in self-compassion and resilience practices that will aid them throughout the rest of their lives.

Maybe you've tried therapy before, only to come up again and again with the same problems that brought you to therapy in the first place. If so, perhaps you're ready for something new! I offer a fresh take on therapy-- balancing evidence-based strategies with creative, restorative, and expansive experiences... even online! If this is your first experience with therapy, that's great too. There's no time like the present to start working on becoming the healthiest version of yourself. Together, we'll come up with a plan that works for you.

When working with me, you can expect to be supported, understood, and guided as you delve deeper, making powerful discoveries that result in lasting, meaningful change. I will honor and appreciate your quirks, your musings, your hangups, and the times when you can't find the words to express what's going on. I will always hear you.

My approach to therapy is informed by attachment theory, trauma-informed care, psychodynamic work, mindfulness, insight from the coaching industry, and research based on vulnerability, shame, self-compassion, and creativity.

Professionals, creatives, and parents with open minds and a sense of dedication to the 'work' will likely resonate with my approach a great deal... so if that's you, reach out today.

I stumbled upon BetterHelp and was matched with Jessica. It was like it was meant to be. I feel like we clicked immediately once we began talking and she understands my situation. She was incredibly empathetic but challenged me to push myself to work on some things and I like that.
