About Me
I am a professional clinical counselor licensed in California with over 11 years of experience working as a psychodynamic counselor, emotional wellness specialist and intuitive healing guide. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, complex trauma, LGBTQ issues, spirituality, and identity formation.
As a Black Identified Queer Woman, I highly value and create space for how various identities and community impact our unique healing journey. My specialty areas of focus include working with BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Spiritually inclined Empaths/HSP, and Women.
My counseling style is engaging and reflective. I center each individuals unique truth which allows me to connect with you exactly where you are in life. My core values expressed through my style include respect, sensitivity, and openness. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and psychodynamic techniques . I am trained in EMDR as well. Together, we will craft a safe and affirming space to generate a treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
Outside of my therapist life I enjoy exploring the great outdoors (especially beach time) , spending time with my lively cat Chance or enjoying a leisure day of reading, connecting with loved ones over a good meal and live music! I am also heavily into spirituality and metaphysics which continue to contribute to my overall sense of wellness. You can often find me at a crystal shop, meditation retreat or holistic healing festival soaking in high vibrational frequencies! These gems help me stay recharged and balanced so I can show up fully for my clients.
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and harmonic life and to take the first steps towards growth. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you during your healing journey.
I look forward to connecting with you!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Jay Greathouse. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
I really enjoy working with Jay Greathouse. Therapy is a lot of work and it can be very hard to look at the things that can be triggering, but I find that she is grounded and helpful during the times where you want to not do the work to heal.
Great!!
She’s the best therapist I’ve ever had!
During the short time we had, I felt an immediate safe space open up for me to process things in a constructive holistic way that makes me want to work with her more. Thank you, Jay!
I feel immensely supported and understood by Jay. Since working with Jay, I have felt real progress and growth in my wellness and have felt held and respected while encouraged and guided.
I look forward to our counseling sessions because Jay provides valuable insight and reflection in areas where I had previously felt stuck and hopeless.
Very talented and effective therapist. She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise. She is caring and a great listener.
I started BetterHelp with Jay around January or February and she is really the best. She is someone I really look to for guidance and she has helped me understand me better so I can show up better for myself. She is really special!
Jessica has consistently provided guidance and reflection over the time we have worked together.
Jessica was a great help. She challenges you to identify with yourself and helps guide you in a positive direction. She’s a great listener! I would definitely work with her again.
Jessica has been a great help to me. Keeping me sane and helping me through my best and worst days. I cant say thank you enough.
Jessica is fantastic. Thorough, accurate, honest, knowledgeable, professional and the best therapist I have ever had.
She is great. Never judges and always helps me to find new ways to grow and be a better me.
Jessica has been great so far through the therapy process. She has a wonderful way of asking the right questions to help me get to the root of what I'm feeling. She's also offered me so many valuable tools that have helped me to take control of my mental health, even three therapy sessions into the process.
She is caring and understanding of personal situations of people, and she doesn't rush responses allowing you to respond at your own leisure.
I have thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated my sessions with Jessica. I definitely feel like I'm addressing my goals during our sessions and feel a greater sense of clarity after each one. She's a very skilled therapist and healer. She helps guide me to peel away layers of a particular stuck pattern or thought until I reach the root cause. She also helps me practice staying present with whatever is coming up during a particular trigger. These sessions have been an immense help for me as I transition through a period of great change in my life. Thank you, Jessica!
Jessica is a warm, kind and professional! I feel very fortunate to have her in my life.
Jessica has been helpful in creative suggestions and new ideas in helping me relieve stress. I even recommended betterhelp to a friend because in this short amount of time, I feel so much better and hopeful in my daily life. She's helped me implement small but meaningful changes that over time have helped me overall become a more calm person, and she helped me through a transitional time in my life where I tended to feel anxious.
Jessica has helped me through the roller coaster ride of life. After remembering painful memories, Jessica has made sure to check in on me regularly whether I'm ready to talk or not. A simple quote and check in would make my day and remind me it will all be okay. Thank you Jessica!
I really do appreciate Jessica Greathouse. She is a great listener, makes me feel comfortable and opens me to different perspectives in a respectful way.
She's awesome. Great listener and great great advice!
Jessica is supportive, thorough and encouraging. I like the fact that I can message her anytime with something that comes up and she will respond. I am at a point in my self-reflection where I am discovering so much about myself and my habits of behavior. She is guiding me and bringing these things to light for me.
Great!
Jessica Greathouse has been so helpful and attentive. She is currently helping me to set up practical goals to work on my concerns. I truly believe she cares and wants to help me to develop better coping skills.
Jessica is a great resourceful consoler! She helps guide my traumas into coping mechanisms that work best for me. Jessica is a great listener and very informative.
