About me
Identifying your goals, tapping into your personal strengths, and supporting you to strive for a purpose-driven life - these are ways I will support clients in a strength based approach to counseling sessions. I have over 15 years of experience in the field of social work. I am a licensed as a clinical social worker, certified school social worker, and a certified yoga instructor. Understanding the benefits of mindful movement as a component of emotional wellness or as a tool to heal from trauma or stress, I have devoted over 300 hours of training in yoga and mindfulness. I enjoy incorporating these practices into my social work practice, at clients’ request.
My counseling style is supportive, encouraging, and solution focused. I incorporate counseling approaches of person-centered, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapies. I will work with the client to identify counseling goals and unite with the client in their journey to a purpose-driven and fulfilling life.
Favorite activities outside of my professional life include spending time in nature, exploring our national parks, and staying curious as a life-long learner by exploring new hobbies. My most recent hobbies are learning to play piano, viola, chess, and golf.
