I have my license in Virginia and have been providing mental health services for over 8 years. I have worked with clients with a range of concerns including depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, trauma, attachment related issues, relationship issues, coping with life changes, and parenting-related stress.
My therapy style is warm, supportive, and based in the belief that a safe and trusted-based relationship is the key to effective therapy. I work collaboratively with each individual to and recognize that you are the expert of your story. Together, we will explore your unique experiences, current symptoms, pain points, and values so that you can begin creating the positive change you are seeking. Mindfulness practices are taught to help bring presence and compassion to each moment. Through this work, one can have greater self-awareness, self-acceptance and self-responsibility. I am passionate about helping others open more to who they are and broaden the scope of possibilities for deep, meaningful lives.
I use a relational and trauma-informed approach that is LGBTQIA+ affirming, social justice oriented, and strengths based. A range of modalities and techniques are used including DBT, mindfulness, attachment theory, jungian therapy, Gottman-based skills, psycho-dynamic, CBT, and ACT.
You are brave for taking this step and starting a journey of growth. I am so glad you are here.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Jessica Knotts. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
I've had some really good therapists in the past, and Jessica is my favorite. She is such a calming, grounding presence, which truly helps with my anxiety. She listens so well and makes profound statements/asks profound questions that really make me think about things and re-frame them. She is so patient and sometimes just pauses to let me absorb information, she doesn't feel the need to fill the space quickly, which allows me to refocus and regroup. I highly recommend her services!
