About me

Hello and welcome. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Minnesota. I graduated with a Master's Degree in Adlerian Psychotherapy in 2012 from Adler Graduate School, specializing in Art Therapy and Marriage and Family Therapy. I am also a Master's Level Art Therapy, and am currently working on obtaining my Art Therapy Registered (AT-R) certification. Since graduation, I have worked in a variety of settings with children/adolescents to the current work I do with adults with major mental illness. I have worked with a variety of mental illness diagnoses, including: major mental illness, neurocognitive impairments (intellectual abilities, dementia, and fetal alcohol syndrome), personality disorders, anger issues, impulsivity, intermittent explosive disorder, anxiety, depression, traumatic experiences, autism, and sexually problematic behaviors. I generally enjoy using person-centered, Adlerian theory, systemic theory, cognitive-behavioral theory, and art therapy in my sessions and dependent upon client need.

I generally base my sessions on the individual themselves, their needs, and strategies to help them grow and find their own successes. In our first few sessions, I enjoy getting to know you as a person, your struggles, your skills, and insight into what is going on in your life. Then we generally explore any other factors that may be contributing to the struggle, and then attempt to find ways to support yourself in a more meaningful way. In life we often have setbacks, our sessions are to help reset, gain skills, build on strengths, and then persevere through life once again.

I currently have limited availability for evening sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays. If you are interested in working with me, please reach out to me to schedule an individual session and specify if you prefer 30 or 45 minute sessions.

I am excited to get to know you and explore ways to assist you in your journey.
