Jessica Williams

About Me

Hello! My name is Jessica Williams and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Oregon. I have had over 7 years experience working in the mental health field and over 5 years of experience providing therapy. I have worked in a residential setting and an outpatient mental health setting with clients of all ages and many different presenting concerns. I have the most experience working with LGBTQIA+ issues, relationship issues, parenting, low self-esteem, body image concerns, depression, anxiety, and trauma.

My counseling style is warm, authentic, and strengths based. I believe that counseling is most effective when a safe and trusting relationship can be created. I utilize aspects from many different counseling approaches including Narrative Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. These models all incorporate a client centered approach that is very important to me. Having a client centered approach means that therapy is always focused on your strengths, values, and goals, rather than focusing on my own agenda. I believe that we all have the necessary knowledge and resources within us to make the changes we want. Therapy is a safe and supportive place to help you access that knowledge.
