Hello, and congratulations on taking your first step towards change! My name is Jessica Young, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin. I received my master's degree in professional counseling from Richmont Graduate University in Atlanta, Georgia. I practiced in Georgia for several years before returning to my mid-western roots in beautiful southern Wisconsin.
I have 11 years of counseling experience, and have worked in a variety of sectors, including private practice, community settings, local government, and hospital settings. I specialize in eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, orthorexia, and other disordered eating patterns), marital and relationship counseling, and trauma. I have training in integrative medicine for mental health, and enjoy utilizing a holistic approach for optimal change. I also have additional training in crisis counseling, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Counseling) and Gottman method for relationships. I work primarily with adults and teenagers, and connect especially well with women struggling with body image and self esteem. I also have a background and additional training in Christian counseling.
I utilize a person centered approach, and believe that the relationship between therapist and client is central to healing. I strive to offer a safe, trusting, and empathic environment that allows each client the space to grow and change. I also utilize solution focused, cognitive behavioral, and psychodynamic techniques, as well as a family systems approach when working with couples.
Whatever your goals or concerns are, I commit to walking alongside you through the journey. Thank you for the opportunity to work with you!

Jessica has been so supportive and offers great advice. She really cares about me and wants to help me the best that she can. She has often voiced/showed me different ways of thinking about different situations that have lead to self growth and better coping with my stress, and life in general. 2020 has been a rough year, but Jessica has made it significantly better by being so understanding and caring.
Jessica is a core part of my growth and I can't thank her and BetterHelp enough.
She is attentive, she is insightful, and I feel a real connection with her.
Since talking with Jessica I have noticed my anxiety and depression has decreased dramatically. She is a very good listener and I enjoy the fact that she includes worksheets for me to use and help with what I am going through. Thank you so much Jessica for your help!
Jessica has been a consummate professional. Empathetic and easy to communicate with she has helped me find clarity and direction during a time where my world has been very ambiguous. I will be forever grateful for the insight that Jessica has helped me find.
I’ll admit, I was very nervous about joining BetterHelp. But when I was appointed to Jessica Young, my opinions immediately changed! I was just lucky enough to get her as my very first therapist on the app! She really listens to what I have to say, and also has patience with me as I try to use the techniques in the outside world that we talk about on the app. I’d recommend her and the app to everyone!
