Jill Chonody, LCSW
About me
I am a licensed clinical social worker in Idaho with over 8 years of experience working in outpatient and inpatient settings. In addition, I have experience working in HIV prevention/education, medical facilities and psychiatric hospitals, and I am a social work educator. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression and other challenges related to mood, anxiety, relationship issues, medical/health concerns (including HIV disease), and grief and loss. I have also helped many people who have experienced abuse.
My counseling style is focused on the relationship, and I believe that being present and open is of utmost importance. I am warm and interactive and will support your self-determination with dignity and respect. My approach combines narrative therapy, strengths perspective, cognitive-behavioral theory, and solution-focused interventions. Our interaction and treatment plan will be collaborative and designed to meet your needs.
It takes so much courage and strength to seek help and work toward change. If you are ready to take that next step, I am ready to help!
I look forward to working with you!

She will actually make an effort to get to know you without getting unprofessional about it in any way. I don't want to be talking to a calculating robot and she gets that. She is also very good at listening and understanding what I'm saying before she tries to chime in with her own comments and advice.
