About Me

Hello. My name is Jill Furumoto, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who lives and works in the Boston Area. I have over 20 years of experience in the counseling field helping individuals in a variety of settings. I have worked in in-patient and out-patient settings, private community-based programs, home-based settings, wellness centers and virtually. I am comfortable working with a wide range of issues using a client-centered approach. I have spend many years providing support and encouragement to people who are facing many challenges including such issues as, anxiety, depression, trauma, work conflicts, interpersonal issues, and chronic pain.
Most recently, my area of focus in therapy is based on and understanding of the mind-body connection. Having worked as a massage therapist and as a meditation instructor, I have incorporated mindfulness and alternative therapies into my work to help clients with stress management and self-esteem and quality of life. I greatly enjoy helping people realize their goals and overcome barriers to achieving their full potential. I am comfortable working within many different modalities and try to develop authentic relationships with each client in order to encourage growth and empowerment.

Jill is great! She is kind, thoughtful and respectful to any issues that I bring up. She immediately tuned in to my problems and has been most helpful in guiding me towards healthier thought patterns.
