I am a licensed clinical psychologist in California with over 7 years of clinical experience working in University College counseling centers. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship/interpersonal issues, career challenges, self-esteem/motivational , substance use, and multicultural concerns. I understand how experiences and life transitions can increase stress and begin to impact emotional well-being, relationships, or individual performance.
I utilize evidence-based practices to help individuals alleviate and manage unhelpful thoughts or behaviors that get in the way of everyday life and tasks. My counseling style is warm, emphathic, interactive, and engaging. While, my approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and solution-focused treatment, it is important that the treatment plan meets your specific goals and areas of focus. I work from a collaborative approach to empower individuals to be involved in their own process of change and growth.

Dr. Kapil has been my counselor for almost 10 months now and I can honestly say that these sessions are a big reason I am not worse off right now. I've been seeing Dr. Kapil for about 4 months now. I was extremely stressed, depressed and overwhelmed by my work and school. Before I met Dr. Kapil, I really felt I was losing sight of myself and that made me even more anxious. But after talking to Dr. Kapil and completing the worksheets she provided based on my situation, all of this has really improved the way I perceive, comprehend and express things. Although I'm in a much better place now, change doesn't occur overnight, and I really feel this is one of the best investments I've made for myself. She's extremely supportive, encouraging, responsive and patient. I appreciate talking to her immensely.
I like her approach in solving problems. She states the issues and educate you where the problem arise. If you put in the work, she will help guide you through it.

Dr. Kapil is the first therapist I’ve ever had. I was a bit skeptical of online counseling in the beginning, but once we started to get in a routine of weekly sessions my entire perspective shifted. She helps me see my problems with a whole new lens. I look forward to my sessions with Dr. Kapil every week. She has helped me through some very difficult situations over the past few months. The thing that I love the most is that I always feel more courageous after a session with Dr. Kapil.
Dr. Kapil has been so great at listening to me and finding ways to help me navigate the issues I present. She is so understanding and gives me a lot of guidance. She does not push me but helps me see things that I am unable to see on my own. It has been great working with her for a few months. I can physically and emotionally see a difference in how much less stress I feel.
Very easy to chat with and explores your feelings well. She doesn't force her opinions on you but let's you work through your own feelings and arrive at the logical conclusion to why you feel the way you do. She listens and responds with good exercises and actions to help you see the thoughts the way you need to. Highly recommend.
Jill has helped me so much!!! I appreciate all of her hard work and dedication. She is always very kind and creates a safe space for me to talk about anything. Jill has helped me grow and learn so much. I never thought I could be the person I am today and I am so grateful for everything that Jill does for her patients :D! I always look forward to our chats and I feel so much better after every session because she knows what to say. I can go on and on, but I think you get the point! :)

I’ve had a better experience with Dr. Kapil than I’ve had with other counselors. I feel she really wants to help me and provides me with worksheets to help me better understand. Since working with her, I have been able to better understand a lot I’m going through and dig deep to help me figure out what is going on. She’s amazing and i am sticking with her!

Dr. Jalil is great at communicating — even when I am not. She is great at following up and checking in. She finds valuable ways for me to critically think and work through some of my problems.
She listens, she is insightful and she offers great perspective. I haven't met all of the goals I want to in my mental wellness yet but I have noticed my progress. I was doubtful about the counseling process but even just knowing I have someone to vent to at all times has helped.

Dr. Kapil is very attentive and insightful. She asks introspective questions and offers exercises and mindfulness activities in a way that doesn't feel dismissive, but rather feels supportive. I have really enjoyed working with Dr. Kapil and I have experienced unsatisfactory experiences with other therapists in the past. She does an excellent job of balancing cognitive therapy with emotional healing.
When I always need to talk about my personal issues, I always have Dr. Kapil with me. She helped me out a lot from anxiety to relationships.

One of the best. Empathetic and intuitive, Dr. Kapil has a counseling style that is hands on and helps the counseled understand their problem, as well as deal with it. She has most definitely changed my life for the better, and I have no complaints. I sincerely appreciate all the effort she puts into her work, and would without hesitation recommend her services.
I really appreciate Dr. Kapil's style. She is very attentive and understanding. This is my first time working with Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and I'm finding that I much prefer it to previous experiences I've had with other modes of talk therapy. Rather than getting lost and overwhelmed in a sea of confusing emotions and half-forgotten memories, I feel like Dr. Kapil instead is teaching me how to examine my own thoughts and their impact on my life, and then teaching me the skills to manage my own emotional and mental health.
