Jimi Courtney, LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with about four years of experience working in community mental health. This means that I have worked with individuals and groups of all ages and various issues. Some of my experience has been working directly with individuals with anxiety/stress, relationship/communication issues, parenting problems, mild to moderate depression, self-harming behaviors, male perpetrators of domestic violence, borderline personality disorder, and ADHD.
My counseling style is all about being human and authentic. I will use honesty and open communication with the individuals that I work with to help build trust and safety. Finding acceptance and exploring the self are important themes in the work that I do with individuals while remaining person-centered and using a cognitive-behavioral approach among other tools. Using creative arts is something that I also like to encourage. At this time, however, I will only be available for messaging and Live Chat sessions but understand this is not effective or appropriate for every person and should be considered if wanting to work with me.
Being able to reach out can be hard, but it is vital in many cases in order to find healing, growth, and change. I would be honored to help you along your journey and to act as a support. I look forward to learning, feeling, coping, and healing with you!

Jimi has been incredibly helpful! She listens and keeps me on track with tangible goals and also has steps and assignments between sessions so the benefit is not limited to our meeting times but extends beyond that. It's very practical and I'm grateful.

Jimi is a fantastic listener, paying attention to not only what I'm saying, but what I'm not saying. She is great at helping me simplify what I'm feeling and understanding it.
