Joan Webster

(MS, LMHC, BCBA)

About Me

I have been providing counseling services to children, adolescents, and families for over 11 years in a variety of settings including inpatient, residential, outpatient and group therapy. I have extensive experience treating trauma survivors, behavioral difficulties and mood-related disorders.

My approach consists of building a strong, trusting relationship and using my clients' strengths and interests to collaboratively work toward achieving treatment goals. I focus on what is important to the client, and provide honest feedback and support that enables self-discovery and growth. I strongly believe that we all possess the tools within ourselves that we need to live our best lives, and that sometimes we just need some assistance discovering this. I work from a place of everyone deserving respect, dignity, and to be heard, and most importantly that all feelings are valid, no matter what anyone has told you!

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Massachusetts, and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. The combination of these skills enables me to work with clients to understand not only how they think and feel, but also how to make meaningful, lasting behavior changes that can be life altering.

She is great for younger people who may swear or talk differently. She understands what I’m saying. She can keep up with multiple topics at the same time. She reccomended books or other tools she finds helpful. She is great at doing longer sessions or multiple if needed. I definitely believe she is great at what she does. I hope go work with her as long as possible.
