About me

I am a licensed therapist and certified clinical trauma professional in Pennsylvania and Virginia with more than 7 years of professional work experience. I have experience working in a variety of settings with individuals experiencing a wide range of concerns, including trauma, substance use, mood disorders, and personality disorders. I have a passion for assisting individuals with understanding the impact of trauma and learning to create new meanings to find a path to create the life they want to live. I take the view that trauma is not just about what happens to you, trauma is about what happens inside you. My therapeutic approach is person-centered and involves working with clients to create a space that is compassionate, free of judgment, and affirming of individual experiences. I offer a range of modalities, including CBT, motivational interviewing, and EMDR. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

Joanna is an excellent therapist. This is my third time doing therapy and this by far the most productive therapy session I have had

She is amazing, I feel completely safe with her, she’s zeroed in on my true needs better than any in person therapist I’ve ever been to. She respects that sometimes I just need an ear, and she allows me to speak through my problems and walks down conversations with me so I feel we are both working towards a solution together. Not only is she helping me, she’s helping me help myself.

So far we have had two live sessions and it has been really helpful. She listens to me and that's very important. I'm glad she is my therapist and looking forward to keeping working with her.

Joanna is absolutely amazing! There really nothing more to say than the fact that I feel comfortable talking about my self and things I want to work on with her. I don't feel forced to give up information. I genuinely get to feel like myself.

10/10 recommend, and I will be working with Joanna for the rest of my life.
