About Me
Hello and welcome! Thank you for taking a few moments of your time to read about me. Whether you choose to work with me or another therapist, I truly hope you find what you are looking for.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist in the state of North Carolina, a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Wisconsin, and a Registered Yoga Teacher. I have over 9 years of experience in the mental health field. I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Northcentral University, a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, and am currently pursuing a doctoral degree with Liberty University.
I sincerely believe that therapy should be a place of total acceptance and non-judgement where personal growth and change can be cultivated. My approach is eclectic and includes the following therapeutic approaches based on the needs of the individual: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I have a passion for treating trauma and am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. As a yoga teacher, I have extra experience helping those trying to connect their mind-body-spirit! I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families dealing with a variety of issues to include depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, abuse, parenting, couples counseling, and military issues.
I commend you for taking the first step to begin counseling, and I know it can be intimidating! Recognizing you need extra support is already the step in the right direction and I am excited to help you become the best version of yourself!

Though I have not been in contact with her for an extremely long time she is very helpful, she is patient and kind. I would highly recommend her people with social anxiety as she is very easy to talk to.
Joanne is great. She checks in frequently and has great advice!
She is amazing she pays attention and really try's to help
Joanne has been a great listener. Although, there are times I go a long period without responding to her, she without hesitation continues to reach out to make sure I am doing okay.
She is very like minded like myself and I would fully recommend her to anyone who is into meditation, spiritual and self love.
She truly is amazing, she fully understands all my need and is really helping me through my situation
She has been very helpful so far.
She has really helped me sort through any issues I feel like talking about any given day it’s very nice
Great listener. Very intelligent conversation and asks good questions that make you think about your thought process or what you are doing. Very timely responses and it is very obvious that she reads everything you send her and she has an honest intention to make you feel better.
I have been working with Joanne for just a few weeks and I feel like she totally understands me already. She does not push me which has happened in the past with different therapists which turned me off to therapy altogether. I really like Joanne’s approach. She asks questions, offers great insight and I really dig when she sends articles and worksheets. I have never experienced that before. It really helps when working on certain situations. I have been struggling with addiction issues for a while. Joanne’s knowledge in this area is so helpful because I have a lot of questions and need help understanding what I need to do to stay sober.
Joanne has been amazing! She asks the right questions and is very quick to offer resources and worksheets that are helpful. She is a great listener and responds promptly.
Joanne has been amazing! She's helped me so much. I felt stuck in my recovery until talking with her but now I feel like I'm making progress again with her help. She pushes me exactly the way I need and does so in a way that I never feel unsafe or judged. Thank you, Joanne!
Joanne is my second time around on BetterHelp, she pushed me to keep the conversation going. I like her A LOT! She is incredibly interactive and gives you plenty of time to reply. she very neutral when we talk about myself and my reflections and I really like how she handles issues and builds questions and worksheets from it.
Joannne has been great. She has given me a lot of great advice and techniques and reaches out if she hasn’t heard from me for a day or so to check in.
