About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has helped thousands of clients find hope, peace, confidence, balance, freedom, happiness and health. I have counseled individuals, couples, families and groups for over twelve years. I have helped people overcome a myriad of challenges, including depression, stress, anxiety, ADD, OCD, addiction, codependency, parenting issues, grief and loss, trauma and abuse. My style is genuine and empathic. I have a Rogerian approach and I tailor a wide range of techniques based on your strengths, needs and preferences. Some of the techniques I employ include Emotion-Focused Therapy, Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness-based Therapy.

It takes courage to open up about your concerns when they may be very personal, embarrassing or uncomfortable to discuss. I understand and will support you with these feelings so it is easier for you to express yourself. When issues surface, this can cause you major distress. If ignored, this stress can cause a breakdown in many or all areas of your life. Don't wait for problems to get the best of you. Do something about it! Take the first step and see what happens. It is a positive and healthy action. You'll see. Take charge and live life to the fullest!

Written by M.A. on Jun 24, 2017 after counseling with Jocelyn for 6 months on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, addictions, lgbt, relationship, intimacy-related, and self esteem

Jocelyn is an extremely caring, understanding and helpful counselor. She listens to everything you have to say and does her best to make suggestions that work best for you, not just what is considered the "quickest" method. She doesn't judge anything you do or say to her, so you can speak about anything that's going on in your life and know with confidence that you have someone who will be able to listen, to be that ear, and everything you say is sacred and safe with her.

She is also committed to helping you create a better outcome. She really does care that what she does improves your life, not just because she has to as part of her job, but because she connects to you. So she genuinely wants you to succeed. That's how I have felt anyway.

She's also very patient and understands if you fall back into old habits, and she'll always be there to help you pick up the pieces again.

I've learnt a lot of things with her as my counselor, and she's been with me through some very rough patches as well as my highs. She's also intuitively knowledgeable about the way people behave and think, so she can be really insightful to help you understand your own mind and why you do things. I'm confident if you start counseling with her that she will at least be able to listen to you, if not outright help you improve your life.

Written by M.A on Dec 19, 2016 after counseling with Jocelyn for 3 weeks on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, addictions, lgbt, relationship, intimacy-related, and self esteem

I've never been so amazed at how much I could help myself since I've been talking to Jocelyn. She is a wonderful person, let alone counselor! An absolute joy to talk to. She's not just made me happy, but accurately pinpointed the areas where I'm thinking unhelpfully. She's helped me to see that I can change my life completely if I just put my mind to it. Speaking to her will give you the most incredible sense of reassurance. You know you're in safe hands, you can write whatever you want to her, you can trust your deepest intimate vulnerabilities with her. It's such an incredible relief to be able to get it off your chest and have someone so capable of listening, understanding and empathizing with you. She does it with ease and still has time to tackle each and every point you make, making you feel totally respected, taken seriously and valued as a human being. On top of all that, she clearly has the skills to challenge you, to put your thoughts to the test, but to take things at the pace you are comfortable with going. She just understands -- that's the simplest way to describe it.

I cannot stress enough that if you feel like you want to do something about yourself, or you have issues you must discuss, that this website is one of the absolute best ways to do so. If you get Jocelyn as your counsellor too, consider yourself very lucky and let the changes start to happen!

I have never spoken to a counselor or social worker before but Jocelyn has already made me feel comfortable enough to be honest and open about things that are not so easy to talk about. She gives me a perspective on things that I never would have thought of on my own and seems to genuinely care about my mental well-being. We have only just began to talk but it has been a helpful experience so far.
