About me

I have been a mental health counselor for 20 years and have helped countless amounts of clients learn about the disease of addiction, deal with depression and anxiety and issues that they have due to childhood and recent traumas; including grief and loss issues. I specialize in trauma, substance addiction, co-dependency and abuse issues as well as domestic violence and family issues. I also have a lot of clients with anxiety and depression issues. I use processing trauma and past issues as my main form of work within the therapeutic alliance and come from a cognitive, behavioral and psychoanalytical perspective when it comes to engaging with clients.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado (LPC), Master's Level Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP) and a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC). I have a B.A. in Psychology from the State University of NY at Stony Brook and a Masters of Science in Education with a Major in Counseling with distinction from Hofstra University in NY. I have also taken Graduate level classes at Florida Atlantic University to advance my studies.

I tend to break through surface level issues and get to the core issues a person has in order to promote change and well being in the individual. People tend to open up to me due to my empathy and understanding of trauma and it's effects on their behaviors.

Jodi not only takes the time to listen, but to HEAR my concerns. I greatly appreciate her counseling style which is direct and to the point. I definitely relate and respond best to this type of communication.
Jodi also has a way of “digging in” gently when necessary. I’m really grateful that she’s my counselor!

Jodi is a frank and insightful councilor. She digs in and doesn't assume anything. She helps me see what's going on in my life in ways that I never saw before. Great to work with.
