About me

The decision to seek help from a mental health professional is not an easy one. If you’ve never been in therapy before, you likely have no idea what to expect, and you may worry that you’ll be judged, criticized, or labeled as “crazy.” If you have been to therapy before, the thought of “starting all over” with someone new can also be overwhelming, especially if your previous experiences haven’t been very helpful.

Whether you’re a therapy veteran or a newbie, I believe I can help. Because I believe that therapy is not a “one size fits all” endeavor, I will listen to what you want to get out of therapy so that I can use my expertise to guide you in a way that fits your unique needs and circumstances. I have 8 years of direct clinical experience with people with a variety of needs and from a variety of backgrounds. I received my Master's in Art Therapy with a Specialization in Counseling from Seton Hill University and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor through the state of Pennsylvania.

I am trained in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), ESFT (Eco-Systemic Structural Family Therapy) and Trauma. My approach is to be both strength-based in helping you to recognize your own abilities and to positively challenge you to identify changes and coping skills necessary for you to be more successful in your daily activities and responsibilities.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Jody Johnson. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Ms. Jody is very nice person and understands the problem I face and talked to me like if she is my bigger sister and she really helped me with her experience and question which let me correct the things and make them better, once again big thanks to Ms. Jody.
