Joe Chambers

About Me

Hello! I'm Joe (I know its not a unique name but apparently I have to roll with it=)

I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) licensed in Texas with over 3 years of experience working as a counselor. I attended The University of Texas to attain my bachelors in psychology and the University of Houston-Clear Lake to receive my masters in clinical psychology. I have worked with clients who experience depression, anger management issues, addictions, co-dependency, traumatic experiences and and just dealing with what life throws at them in general (Lots and lots of curve balls). What I have found though is in all those different situations, having someone there to listen and walk with you through difficult moments can be monumental. That's where I come in. Whether its going over coping skills, weighing the options with you, or just being there to hear you out when you feel at a loss, I got you.

My counseling style combines client-driven therapy with skills and interventions based in cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness, acceptance and solution-focused techniques. Central to that is the relationship that you and I build through trust, time, and a little bit of humor. As a therapist, my goal is to create a space for us to discuss whatever you deem as your goals for your life worth living. In that space, my hope is that you can find the tools and the support to reach them effectively. Sometimes, that means discussing topics that can be uncomfortable or challenges that may be tough. Despite that difficulty and sometimes even because of it, we can grow a skills set that works to see those goals achieved.

Looking forward to working with you!

Joe has really helped me sort through some of the issues I’ve been having. He is a very good listener even on chat and always comes off as calm and non-judgmental and most important of all, kind and willing to help you. Contrary to his belief he doesn't use the word balance too much. One could say that there is a balance to his use of the word. :)

Joe is exactly the type of therapist I needed. An active listener who gears my train of thoughts towards the right decision. If you are someone who can find solutions on your own but need someone to accelerate & clears that thought process. I cannot recommend Joe enough.

Been on the platform for a while now and Joe has really helped me sort through some issues I’ve been facing. And I like reading his replies to my messy thoughts because he always sounds very calm and kind and non-judgemental! Highly recommended.

Joe has been incredibly helpful for me and my healing journey, and I was so lucky to be paired with him as my therapist. I was a bit hesitant about the service at first, because I’ve never had a therapist I connected with. However, from the first message, I instantly felt comfortable and felt like someone was actually working towards helping me heal.

Very helpful and understanding despite me not being 100% dedicated. Looking forward to better results with Joe.
