Therapy is Collaborative
Imagine you want to hike a new mountain trail. You’ve never been on it before, and your friends tell you it is exciting and fulfilling. It’s also difficult and sometimes dangerous. You get to the parking lot and feel nervous, excited, and worried. After walking across the parking lot toward the beginning of the trail, you find that there is a guide waiting at the trailhead for you. You feel relief and confidence as you start the climb.
Like a trail guide that walks down the path with you, I’ll help you through the difficult times and share your successes as you progress toward the peak. During our sessions, I offer a safe place to process the rigors of life. You will be able to to gain insight as we explore what factors could be impacting past, current, and future issues in your life. Sometimes this requires examining painful parts of our past or receiving difficult feedback. I’ll provide support and caring feedback to help you improve.

Joel has been a huge help in dealing with relationship issues, as well as helping me refocus on what's important and setting some goals. He's recommended some excellent books as resources as well as offer his own guidance with following my dreams and getting things done. I'd highly recommend him to anyone needing help with relationships or completing your own goals.
Joel listens well and helps form solutions to get his clients through. I love his demeanor and how engaged he can be.
Joel is very good at listening to specific concerns and discussing items you want to follow up on. He is also very good at ensuring that you have an ongoing plan for progress with items to review and chat about regularly throughout the week as appropriate - some of the counselors I have had in the past seem like they just want to chat and not actually make any goals for improvement - but he has been good at focusing on areas and things to work on.
Joel has been inspiring and helpful. He's guided me to some important insights about myself and has provided some excellent resources for further study.
I LOVE Joel. He has made such a difference in my life. He’s very supportive and is always prepared with tools and advice to help. I had a therapist I saw for years and i never wanted to see anyone else. When he moved away, I didn’t find someone else. Years later, it caught up to me and I went on better help. It was SUCH a relief to find Joel who reminds me a great deal of my previous therapist. I recommend him to anyone.
He is great to talk to and he really listens. I have seen immediate improvements after my conversations with him.
I never imagined myself turn to online counseling. I've pictured that if I ever needed any help I would do so in person. Thankfully I did take a chance on Better Help. Joel my counselor was able to and still is helping me from a far to work through a difficult time. It's helpful to connected to a professional from the comfort of your own device.
