I see the therapy process as a partnership and the client (You) are the most important part of that process. It is your process and I see myself, as the therapist, as a part of the process like a guide. Feedback is important to me, as I can use this information to help guide you in the way that is most helpful. Most of my work is done in a model that is based on helping you find your strengths to resolve any problems that you identify. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, which helps you examine how what you think, and how you are thinking can impact your experiences. Also I focus on helping you find solutions to your situation and ways of looking at things that help you to find solutions. I also encourage people to find their own ways of self-care and rejuvenation, because all of us need to use the best self-care that we possibly can, in order to find the best quality of life for ourselves in this world.

Dr Joelle Kallio has been wonderful for me over the last couple of months. I certainly would not have gained a Dr (Clinical Psychologist) via any other method to my knowledge in UK. For counseling face to face I would only be able to have an ordinary counselor and the waiting time can be up to 6 months. I decided on this counseling route originally as general support for a lifetime decision to do with Adoption so records would not be added to my UK Mental Health. Dr Kallio has been an extremely welcome major support throughout my depression, crisis period due to judgements and decisions being made in my life at the moment. Dr. Kallio has enabled me to message or video with her. I have dyspraxia and Border Line Personality Disorder and she has been fantastic with supporting me during times such as Easter Break when my usual local Support was not available. She’s been great providing me with website info such as Dialectical B Therapy and other topics she thought may be good for me. A very empathetical, calming person whom I can’t speak Highly Enough Of. She has listened, been there for me, responded and enabled me to deal with all my current dark thoughts and speech. I feel extremely lucky and am extremely happy with Joelle as a counsellor.
Joelle is genuinely empathetic and will listen to any stressful situations you are going through with care. She is great to work with and provides a stress-free, non-judgmental environment where you can feel free to open up.

Dr. Kallio is so helpful. She's really great at listening to every concern that I have and addressing all of the points that I put forward. She is only interested in helping others and I love that about her. She isn't very forceful in her conversations, which I like. I know most therapists would just go straight for the break you down and build you up concept, but Dr. Kallio is different. We only explore areas that are uncomfortable to discuss if I want to explore those areas. I am so glad I was able to connect with her.
I have been working with Dr. Kalio now for the past couple weeks. I feel heard during our sessions. She’s attentive, responsive and that makes me feel as though she cares about my wellbeing. So far so great!
