My name is John Berkes and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT#116014) from California with over four years of counseling experience. I hold a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University and have been licensed since the fall of 2019.
I have experience working with a variety of individuals including teenagers, those involved in the criminal justice system, substance use, and adults with serious mental illness.
I regularly work with people to address depression, anxiety, anger management, motivation/ work completion, relationship issues, self-esteem, social skills, and life transitions. I believe that people often hold the solutions to their own problems and only need help seeing things from a new perspective to utilize the skills they already have. I work from a client centered approach and utilize techniques from Solution Focused Therapy and Motivate Interviewing to help my clients realize their goals.
I will work with you to tailor each session and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
