About me

Greetings:

I am a Clinical Psychologist licensed in Virginia, with 24 years of experience of psychotherapy and psychological assessment. I have successfully treated many clients who suffer from symptoms such as Depression, Anxiety, Anger, and Resentment that have greatly affected their day to day functioning. I have extensive experience with medically ill individuals in both my post doctoral work at Howard University Hospital as well as with long term care residents and their families.

I bring a respectful, thoughtful, and candid predisposition to psychotherapy. I view my role as being both part of your inner circle of support as well as your personal professional psychological consultant who has experience with many tools to help your decision making and coping skills . I use a combination of Client Centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) treatment and techniques . Through this process, clients recognize and challenge their negative thoughts and then replace them with more positive and adaptive beliefs and behaviors. This in turn leads to life with less pain and grief, as well as greater joy and deeper and more fulfilling relationships.

I am excited to work with you!

Respectfully,

John C Colletti, PsyD

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. John Colletti. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Dr Colletti is always willing to listen to what’s on my mind. One of the things that I appreciate most is that he truly uses all of the tools. Our sessions could (and often do) take place via texts.

I've worked with Dr Colletti for over a year, and he's truly helped me cope and deal with my depression. Without his help I strongly don't think I would be the person I am now.
He's really help me understand my triggers and discussed with me about how I can get past the days where they feel impossible. For the people who don't feel "normal", he will make you feel normal.

He's a great therapist & has helped me get through a lot of childhood trauma I've resurfaced over the last year or so

Shows complete understanding when I feel I'm losing my mind. I feel so different from other people and Dr C shows compassion for my challenges and makes me feel like I'm maybe not so different after all.
