Hello there and welcome to my realm of therapy. My name is John Hellmann, LICSW. I have been working with individuals, couples, and families for approximately 10 years in a multitude of settings. I received my Master’s in Social Work from Boston College with a specialization in Mental Health. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Rhode Island. As a licensed independent clinical social worker, I'll help you find relief from repetitive thoughts and overwhelming feelings of anxiety, depression, or grief. We will work together to identify the underlying causes of your distress and help you find more effective ways to cope. My strengths are in clinical assessment, treatment planning, and crisis management. I have experience working with individuals who are diagnosed with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, and those on the Autism Spectrum. I use a variety of evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy using a strengths-based approach to meet the needs of my clients.
