My name is John, and I am a licensed professional counselor. My focus is on helping motivated people make changes that will positively impact their lives. My counseling style reflects the belief that your family of origin has an important effect on how you live your life – in fact, it can be at the root of many of the difficulties that bring you to seek out a counselor.
I am licensed as a professional counselor in South Carolina, Georgia, and Michigan and most of my work has been helping persons who are in a physical health crisis requiring hospitalization. At times I have provided grief support for families who have lost a hospitalized loved one. I have provided this level of care as a Professional Chaplain and I have been a Board Certified Chaplain for close to 30 years.
One of the core values a Certified Chaplain lives by is total positive regard for the person in the chaplain’s care. I bring this value with me when I work with someone in counseling. I believe that you benefit most from counseling when you feel fully accepted and safe. I am friendly and open to where you are in life – I work with you to make the changes you need to make to find fulfilment in your life. I’m comfortable discussing matters of the heart – and I can help if your concerns are practical and down-to-earth.
