About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor/Mental Health Service Provider, Licensed Marital and Family Therapist, Licensed Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse Counselor 2, and a certified Master Addiction Counselor with 30 years of experience. I am licensed in Tennessee, and a registered mental health telehealth provider in Florida. I have worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, intimate partner problems, addictions and a host of other concerns.

I practice primarily from the Cognitive Behavioral perspective, but I use other styles as appropriate for the client. I strongly believe that each individual client can learn how to overcome barriers that interfere with their lives resulting in better relationships and a more satisfying life. Further, I believe that each client deserves the opportunity to explore their unique, individual lives, and develop their own goals for treatment.

I look forward to meeting and working with you to achieve your goals!

Johnnie and I have had two sessions together, and I have already talked about and processed more from my past than I ever did with months worth of time with other therapists. I had given up for a long time on therapy but I am now excited for sessions and look forward to working more with Dr.Welch. I strongly recommend working with him!
