Jolene Nell

About Me

I am a Clinical Social Worker (Therapist), licensed in Washington State and Oregon, with over 20 years’ experience working with diverse populations in a variety of settings. I have had a broad and dynamic range of professional experiences, with the primary focus in helping individuals living with depression, anxiety, managing life transitions, grief and loss, and trauma. I have also helped many people who have experienced physical or sexual trauma or emotional abuse. My years working in private practice, community outreach, and community mental health have helped develop my professional skills and improved me as a human being. I love what I do and I believe in therapy. I view the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative process, with a focus on providing you a non-judgmental, safe and nurturing environment to address the challenges in your life. I work with individuals who are in their late teens through older adults, from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and belief systems. I am eclectic in my approach, designing individual treatment plans from cognitive-behavioral, humanistic/client-centered, psycho-dynamic, mindfulness, and dialectical behavior therapy.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

I haven't been in therapy in nearly 20 years. My first therapist was helpful for me, but having Jolene as a therapist has been altogether transformative. She brings an objective compassion that has helped me achieve breakthroughs in my well-being and mental health.

I have been treated by various psych MDs, FNPs, and LCSWs in the mental health industry for anxiety and depression issues, as well as professionally worked with many over the last 20+ years. From the very first appointment, I felt clearly seen and heard by Jolene as a human deserving of compassion and help, not just a client or case. She has the perfect combination to me of warmth, humor, impartiality, and methodology. Her patience and flexibility has been a gift during this tumultuous year. I've already recommended her to multiple friends and former colleagues and would absolutely recommend her to anyone else.

Jolene was a supportive and calm presence when I was feeling very confused about how to proceed in my life. Her questions prodded me in the right direction and I am so at peace now. And I also have the tools when the same situations arise again. Thanks, Jolene!

A very kind and compassionate person.

She is a wonderful councilor and I would much rather pay for her out of pocket than have another professional for free
