About Me

I am a former adjunct professor of psychology and Diplomate of Clinical SociaL Work who believes that to have a successful outcome in therapy, the client and therapist must first build a strong rapport. Once that foundation is laid, I can use one of several therapeutic modalities, depending on the issue at hand. Frankly, I have no need to lay on anyone a particular psycho technology. Everyone is different and have their individual needs. My belief is that simply providing a confidential sounding board for your thoughts and feelings can be very useful. If desired, I can assist you in creating a plan of action to achieve your personal or professional goals. I have worked with folks struggling with drug and alcohol use as well as physical disabilities that may hamper their progress. Too, I have helped those seeking a grounded footing in their educational goals. I have experience working with those seeking clarification in their relationships at home and at school or work. I have sought to help folks work thru their trauma and its physical and emotional pain.
Along with my own coming of age learnings I have completed varied educational pursuits including graduate work at UC Berkeley and my time in the U.S. Marine Corps.
I am a professional member of the American Counseling Association and the Canadian Counseling and Psychotherapy Association.
My hope is that we can learn from each other and discover our shared humanity.

Pro. Jon is an expert listener. He is compassionate but not afraid to show you your own blind spots. He is easy to talk to, and a man of great intelligence.
