About me

Greetings! My name is Keegan Herring, and I use male pronouns (he/him/his). You can call me Keegan. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado. I graduated with my Masters from the University of Denver where I focused mainly on issues surrounding LGBTQIA+ identity and substance use. I have 5 years of experience working in the mental health field where I worked with a range of issues, diagnoses, people, and cultures. Specifically, my experience includes working with depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, and identity.

It takes courage to take this step in prioritizing your mental health, and therefore, I take my work very seriously. I use a client-centered approach to my work with clients. This means that you are the expert of your life, and I am here as a tool for you to uncover or discover hidden truths about yourself and your values. I use several different counseling techniques that draw from Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and psychodynamic therapy. I use a strengths-based approach to your treatment. I believe that you are inherently special and one of a kind, and thus, my treatment is tailored to your needs. Therapy is not one size fits all.

I have a passion for listening, connection, and helping. If anything you have read speaks to you, please reach out! Again, it takes courage to begin to heal. I am proud of you!

Keegan is amazing. He's an active listener, and I can tell he cares to talk to me, and he cares about me. I feel like I am his only client when we have a session, and I feel a lot more aware since starting counseling with him.

Keegan is extremely insightful and understanding . He picks really intentional questions and offers incredible perspective/advice. It's only been a handful of sessions but he was so quick to get on board with where I am that I feel I am well on my way to where I want to be!

Keegan made me feel very comfortable. I was apprehensive about my first appointment. I'm happy to say I was very much at ease.

Keegan helps me break down what my triggers are. He immediate gave me ways to deal with my anxiety, so that I could better manage it so that I didn't feel overwhelmed at every turn.

In my short amount of time on Pride Counseling, Keegan has reached out to me to just check on me if I have not responded and made me honestly feel like I am valued. I know that with the way that times are today its hard to really step away and think about yourself but Keegan is really showing me that its time to do something for me.
