About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and with over 16 years of professional counseling experience in outpatient, inpatient, community mental health and private practice settings. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns. I have worked with clients in many different stages of life as well.

I provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for you to have the freedom to explore and process your life situation(s) which may be contributing to uncomfortable feelings and behaviors. My desire is to see you overcome obstacles in your life so that you can move forward and improve the quality of life you desire and deserve. It is my desire to listen, understand, and be helpful to you to the fullest extent of my professional ability. Although I use an integrated approach to counseling that includes various theories and techniques tailored to your specific needs; my overall approaches are based on Client Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, and Solution Focused Therapies. My goal is to shape the counseling experience that is unique to you and that meets your needs of healing and change and to collaboratively find solutions to your difficulties. I may at times speak with professional colleagues about our work without asking permission, but all identities will be disguised.

I look forward to working with you!

Please note that before our first meeting, there is an intake process which I can help walk you through.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Jonathan Ybarra. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Jonathan Ybarra is a great listener and offers ways to address your issue. He is grounded in the Bible and uses wisdom from the Bible as well as other counseling texts. It's a good mix and has been very helpful in my journey through recovering.

This counselor is horrible! He wanted me to fill in the questionnaire that has to be submitted before the scheduled meeting. The scheduled meeting is the following day. Been working on the questionnaire and was going to send it later tonight. He canceled and asked me to find another counselor. Don't take this guy.
