My ideal client is someone coping with mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and/or substance abuse. I specialize in Behavioral Activation as an evidenced based intervention for treating mood disorders and moving clients toward their goals. I also enjoy working with couples and families to help them communicate better and resolve interpersonal conflict in a healthy way. I'm a certified Prepare-Enrich marital/premarital counselor. I am a systemic family therapist, who examines all dimensions of my clients' lives - biological, psychological, relational, and social - to help them grow in a positive way.
As a therapist, I am warm, empathetic, and understanding. I believe that all thoughts, feelings, and behavior serve a purpose. My goal is to help clients identify their purpose and then work to find healthier, more constructive ways to accomplish that purpose. I believe every person is unique and I help each client self actualize their full potential.
I look forward to working with you on your mental health goals.

I love working with Joe! He's great at explaining and helping me sort through my feelings, and the space to do so! I appreciate it a lot.
Best therapist I have ever had. Offers helpful advice, and I always feel like he is in my corner.
Joe always gives me the opportunity to cover what is on my mind during our sessions while making sure I'm still focused and working towards my goals. I found him to be very helpful.
Joe listens to understand and is able to ask to think differently. He is very responsive.
Joe is wonderfully compassionate and understanding of my issues. He has helped me so much in finding the tools necessary to decrease my anxiety and depression. I feel much better prepared to face the world after learning so much from Joe.
He’s very responsive and direct, which is something I really needed. He uses great examples that I can relate to to make his points. Has plenty of examples to push me to be a better me.
