About me

Welcome, and thank you for choosing me to assist you. I am Joseph (Joe) Sherry, Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Pennsylvania and New York who has worked in the mental health field since January 2000. I am an active, energetic person, social person who enjoys spending time with my three children. I have worked with families, individuals and older adults. Specializing in the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy and solution focused techniques to address depression, anxiety/stress and the impacts of Traumatic experiences. The best outcomes come when the participant is empowered. No one is a better expert on your life then you! You will gain the ability with my assistance to reevaluate your thoughts, experiences, and how you view your actions, you will learn to create the life you want.
The role of therapy will be to help you evaluate your thoughts, experiences and how your actions can get you the life you want.
My belief is that each person has the ability to grow, change and reach the goals they have for themselves. Personally, experiences created changes throughout my life, and I have learned how to adapt to change that I cannot help and how to enact the changes that I want to enact. We each have strengths that help us overcome situations that are difficult, and can develop awareness into how our needs influence the development of the situations we experience.
I look forward to helping you!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Joseph Sherry. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Joe is very straight and to the point which is helpful. It keeps me from reliving the past and focused on working in the present.

Joe is a really great counselor. He's reliable, insightful, and calm. It can be difficult for me to open up to people but Joe put me at ease and patiently helped me work through my trauma and anxious thoughts. I'm very grateful for how much he has helped me.

Joseph Sherry doesn't seem to really care or delve deep into his client's problems. This is OK! Sometimes we clients only need help with one or two things that can be wrapped up in 2-3 meetings. Joseph didn't ask me for my real name, for a profile photo, and he even let me get away with listing some made up name in my emergency contact listing.

Joseph is like a slightly-worse Google for your emotions and decisions. If Google could offer me feedback on my thought processes then I wouldn't use Joseph. But Google doesn't have that capability yet, so Joseph is the next or second-next best thing.
