About me

Hi, my name is Josh and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Wisconsin, USA.

To begin, I value you for your courage to ask a professional stranger like me to be in your corner. And, I am honored at the opportunity to get to be in your proverbial corner, supporting your healing and growth. As such, you can always count on me to be a compassionate and encouraging resource throughout our work together.

Additionally, I see you as the primary field expert of the data (i.e. your past thoughts, feelings, experiences) of your life. Together, we will analyze the data you provide, so being authentic here is key. It is through this collaboration process of sifting through your life's data that we can develop the best strategies to help you reach your counseling goals in response to said data.

Once you have accomplished in therapy what you wanted to, then our therapeutic relationship will come to its end. This is often a difficult time to say goodbye, but it is a healthy one as it promotes your ongoing growth and prohibits any potential codependent counselor-client relationship from hindering your autonomy.

My hope for you is that you live your life with more peace, hope, strength, and resolve as a result of every session that we meet. Naturally, I aim to support your pursuit of those personal revelations that will empower you to overcome & heal from whatever past issues, hurts, traumas, fears, and negative beliefs that have brought you to counseling. My desire as your therapist is that you would experience growth in your self-confidence, self-understanding, and self-skills as a result of our time together. So, much of what I do in my therapeutic approach with you will seamlessly embody these things.

If you choose me, then know that you will find a professional ally who will treat you with compassion and respect all the while delivering support-based insights and ideas to help you achieve your counseling goals in the most efficient and effective way possible. So, if my therapeutic approach sounds like something you'd see yourself benefiting from, then I look forward to working with you! (But if not, that's okay, too; and, I wish you the best in finding a counselor that fits what you're looking for!)

Sincerely,
Josh

Josh has been a great pillar of support in my life. He can take a problem and help you break it down to its roots to figure out a solution. He is good at recognizing and acknowledging emotion, but then helping process the feelings so you can think critically to get through anything.

I would highly recommend Josh to anyone looking for a great therapist. Josh is knowledgeable and genuinely listens with patience. He has been a strong advocate and supportive therapist. He’s explored with me and he allows me space to navigate my own issues which is important to me. Josh hasn’t projected or avoided any tough topics so I can appreciate that too. All in all, it’s evident that Josh cares about people and helping them find resolutions.

Josh has been absolutely amazing to work with. As someone who has worked with other counselors before and did not last long with them, I can confidently say this has been an amazing eye opener to what therapy can actually be. In my past experiences, I felt that I wasn’t making any progress and that the counselors were providing me with basic information and “activities” to “help me out”. I was not feeling to confident about working with Josh as again, my previous experiences were kind of useless. After working with Josh for a few months now, I am beyond grateful I gave this another try. I came to Josh at a very low point in my life and was struggling tremendously. Josh has absolutely changed my mindset and has helped me beyond what I expected in getting back to who I am as a person. He is the first counselor Iv worked with who does not forget any previous talking points and is always building from our previous session. Not to mention the way he connects with an individual and makes it unique to them. He has been able to use creative analogies that 1. Hit home with me so deeply and resonates with me so well and 2.makes me feel heard, understood, and provides such an amazing outlook to any situation. Not only is Josh an amazing counselor, but he almost feels like a life coach as we get farther into this process. He has validated every emotion I have had and has given such helpful insight to my own thoughts. Many times making me realize that my mind is working against me. He makes me not feel like such an overthinking or that I’m crazy. Instead, he understood my situation In depth and has given me such amazing outlooks to a situation that I thought was the worst possible scenario for me and my life. This has been truly a transforming experience and I am glad to have this guy in my corner for the foreseeable future. Not only did he help bring me out of a dark place, he has helped me build up myself to not allow myself to get back into that place again. For anyone who doesn’t believe in counseling like I did, I can 100% say Josh has given me a completely new outlook on what a counselor can and should be doing for you.

Josh is fantastic. From the second I started talking to him he was engaged in the conversation. Really understood the conversation. Best therapist I have ever had
