About Me

I am a professional counselor licensed in Wisconsin. As your counselor, my first goal is to be a positive, professional support that you can rely on when times get tough. I want you to know that I care about you and what you're going through from the very first time we meet all the way to the end. If you want a counselor who can make you feel heard and supported while also providing you with new ideas in a helpful, nonjudgmental way so that you can move forward in resolving whatever is troubling you, then I may be a good fit.

As for my experience, I have helped people from all ends of the wellness spectrum. These include people struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, identity issues, life stressors and relationship issues with a partner, children, family, coworkers and so on. I have also worked with people whose lives are getting hit hard by the overwhelming emotions related to loneliness, sadness, hurt, confusion, pain, loss and so much more. Lastly, I like helping people gain a new sense of direction and purpose for their life when they're feeling like they have no hope of a future, especially during times of major and minor life transitions and changes.

With me as your counselor, you get a warm and supportive ally in your corner. I have used many different therapeutic approaches with individuals over the years because I believe there is no one-size fits all in counseling. That's why I customize my counseling techniques and the way I interact with you based on your personality, needs and goals. Being able to meet you where you are at is definitely one of my specialties.

Last, but not least, I am a counselor who can be serious, yet lighthearted when the situation calls for it. I want you to enjoy our sessions together AND feel like you are making progress towards your personal short and long term goals. I try not to overcomplicate things, so if you are unsure of what to expect in a counseling interaction, don't sweat it. The way I like to view counseling is by comparing it to a research conversation. You are the field expert on your life - no one else knows your life and what's happened in it better than you. As such, your thoughts, feelings and experiences in life are your best data. And, this is where I come in. My specialization is in helping you analyze and interpret your data so that you can better utilize the information within to make the resolutions and adjustments to your life for the better.

Needless to say, I look forward to doing my best to make a positive impact in your life.

Josh is extremely knowledgeable and professional. I am amazed at how the goals I have for therapy are being met so quickly due to his help. If I would’ve known therapy could be this great, I would’ve started years ago!! I highly recommend him and can’t say enough good things!

Josh is great to talk to. I always feel comfortable discussing things and if there is something that I would ever feel uncomfortable discussing, I know he would understand my boundaries. Josh is very intuitive and always seems to be able to read what is going on subconsciously even in my messages when I haven't always realized it. Having him as a resource has been incredibly valuable.

Josh is great! I’ve only been seeing him for a couple of weeks and he’s my first therapist ever. He empathizes with me and listens even when I’m rambling on about nonsense. I don’t feel judged and he’s great with using analogies.
