About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker experienced in working with individuals who are coping with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, stress, and addictions. I love thinking about "the big questions" in life and would be delighted to explore them with you.

My therapy style is gentle and relationship-based. I primarily work in a person-centered fashion. The three defining characteristics of this approach are:

1 ) Empathy - I will always make an effort to imagine myself in your shoes so that I can develop a better understanding of your experience.
2 ) Congruence - I'll be my real self with you and will share my own thoughts and feelings about our work when it's appropriate to do so.
3 ) Unconditional positive regard - I will accept and value you for who you are, regardless of what you think, feel, say, or do.

I believe that you know yourself most deeply and assuming you’re not planning on harming yourself or others, I will always protect your confidentiality and respect your right to self-determination. The service I provide is for you, and I will follow your lead in our work together.

I greatly appreciate the time you’ve spent learning about me and hope that you’ll consider me as an option for your wellness needs.

Josh has a keen sense of emotional awareness. He knows when to push me when I need it most and when to just sit back and listen when I need it. I never feel pressured to share, but also feel very open and secure sharing details about my life that I usually don’t share with others.

Joshua is whole-heatedly one of the most genuine counselors I've talked to. He responds quickly as possible, and you can tell by his tone and attitude that he truly wants to help you improve your life. I would recommend Joshua to anyone who wants someone who talks to them like a person, and not just a client, and wants a counseling experience that's both combines both empathy and a call for true self introspection.
