I’ve been struggling with social anxiety and depression for a while and mostly tended to avoid a lot of social situations. Joy really helped me push myself outside my comfort zone and I’m extremely grateful to her. She’s also a very down-to-earth person that is very easy to talk to and I felt extremely comfortable talking and discussing my issues with her.
We have just completed our last session together and I was honestly happy but sad at the same time. Joy has not only been a great impact on my first year of motherhood, but has been an efficient, kind, and down to earth counsellor. I couldn’t have asked for a better counsellor during these past 2 months. I genuinely looked forward to our sessions together that we had weekly because she honestly felt like a friend. We were able to joke with each other when necessary as well as share common interests. She responded in such a timely manner and was there when I needed her the most. She did her best to accommodate me and my schedule to ensure that I got an appointment time that was best for me. She offered multiple resources for me, including articles, worksheets, and videos. Her efforts to help me overcome my anxieties and fears, as well as issues dealing with family members with addiction has been the help I've been longing for. Thank you, Joy.
She help me so much
Joy noticed aspects of my personality right away, and suggested a task-based plan that had clear goals for each step. She helped me isolate topics and stay focused when things were stressful and jumbled up in my mind. Her handle on the BetterHelp website is incredible--she has worksheets and goal marks and is very communicative via the chat. She made me feel heard from even my daily journals. Her attentive care was firm and self-assured, which helped me feel like I am in control of my life again.
Inclusive and resourceful.
Joy is great. It’s still early in our sessions but I feel like she will be able to help me through this difficult time in my life right now.
Joy was extremely helpful. She helped me when I felt completely hopeless and trapped in my relationship. Although it was very difficult to talk to my partner about the issues, Joy helped me get very clear on my goals, and helped me communicate assertively - without getting into a fight.
Holy moly. Joy is GOOD. I felt super comfortable with her. At first I didn't know where to start because sometimes the things in our head can feel like they're building up, but she was able to make sense of the knot of things I struggle with. Not only did she makes sense of it, but she pinpointed things that I know I struggle with that I didn't vocalize. I’m really excited to work with Joy. I have a good feeling that I’m going to grow a lot through this.
