All of us, at some point, encounter a problem that seems insurmountable. For more than 25 years, I have helped a variety of people from all walks of life find solutions to issues at home, at work, in the military, at school, in their relationships or within themselves. I have in-depth knowledge of people in law careers, having worked 8 years in law firms. In addition, I was a partner is a counseling practice called Homefront LLC that counseled service members, their families, first responders and trauma survivors.
Some people have suffered loss or trauma. Others are struggling with family problems or workplace dissatisfaction. Many are feeling lost, confused or frustrated. Counseling can resolve these challenges and lead to a life that is rewarding and enjoyable.
I have a MS degree in psychology and a certification for Military/Veteran Behavioral Health from the DOD. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Delaware in the US and am a Nationally Certified Counselor.
My style of counseling involves working together in a safe and supportive space at a pace set by the client. We will identify strengths and understand challenges. We will look at behaviors that are beneficial and those that are limiting. We will design new approaches, practice new skills and assess the outcomes. Together we will craft a new direction that leads to happiness, self acceptance and achievement.
Everyone has the capacity for growth and development. And, I believe that we all deserve a happy and fulfilling life. If this is what you are looking for, I would be pleased to work with you.

I've been working with Joyce for almost 2 years now and she has helped me on every step of my recovery journey.
She is very experienced, an attentive listener and patient in her approach.
I can highly recommend her, especially to those struggling with CPTSD/PTSD.

Joyce is fantastic. She really helped me through some tough times. My moms cancer diagnosis, her passing, my recently diagnosed chronic disease and my stressful job situation. She kept me sane through it and still does.

Joyce has been by my side through various countries and different times of crisis in my life. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for her. Four years of constant support and counting! Thank you Joyce for everything you do!

I adore Joyce, She is incredibly intelligent and reads me very well. She’s helped me (and continues to help me,) with childhood trauma, fertility issues and adhd.
I’ve had other therapists and counselling over the years and without doubt Joyce is the best I’ve had.
She was brilliant when I was at my lowest reminding me not to put pressure on myself, tactics to help with panic attacks and to give my body time to recovery from ivf, basically making sure I was being kind to me.
I’m now on a journey of understanding my adhd and more ivf in the future is on the cards and I feel better knowing that I have this support system in the shape of joyce! Thank you

Joyce Keene is a great therapist. I feel very comfortable opening up to her and I never feel pressure from her, but I can progress with things in my own pace. I have been feeling bad for a long time without really being able to understand what makes me so anxious all the time, but Joyce is able to read me and ask questions that help me to understand the situation and suggests actions I can try to make it better.

After working with Joyce weekly for two years, I have completely turned my life around. Before Joyce, anxiety and childhood traumas were consuming my life and I was desperate for help. Joyce was kind, caring and an attentive listener while we worked to figure out the root cause of my anxiety. From there, she helped me with tips and ways to overcome these feelings that were keeping me from fully living my life. I’m forever grateful for Joyce’s help and how she got me my life and future back. She is the absolute best counselor and I cannot recommend her enough!

Joyce is very astute and solutions-focused. Within the first week she not only recognized a pattern in my depression that no other therapist had noticed before, but recommended a book that directly addressed the issue. As I read, I can reach out to her about how the book makes me feel, or how I can work on improving my mood every single day. I feel like I've already learned more from her in a few weeks than months of traditional therapy.

Joyce is of huge importance to me. I know she is there to support me with her expertise while I work through some tricky stuff. She has educated me and collaborated with me. I am in the UK and I have never stuck with counselling. I have found counsellors to be aloof, condescending , and the process of counselling like some game where I am not privy to their process, while they sit as an assumed expert not being transparent or collaborative.
With Joyce I feel I have an experienced expert other truly working with me, hearing me, validating me, drawing on research and and her experience to educate me and help me understand relevant ideas and findings, as well teaching about specific techniques to help in truly practical ways which I can draw on in the moment
Basically I feel that Joyce has got my back!

I am so glad I have someone like Joyce to talk with. She's able to get to my core issues and make sense of the many things I write to her. And even though I write a lot, she responds in a timely manner. It's been so helpful to have someone so experienced to help me sort through my issues and thoughts. I was a little skeptical about online counseling via messaging, but I think it's a great way of communicating because I can take time to make sure that I am expressing myself the way I want to, whereas I might feel more rushed if I were talking face-to-face. I'm impressed that even though we've never spoken directly, Joyce still has been able to understand me and help me so much in the short time that I've worked with her.
