About me

Hello, my name is Joyce and I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of California.

I received my Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2014 with a concentration in mental health. I also have a Master's degree in Gerontology (the study of aging). Much of my experience as a social worker and therapist has been around advocacy, older adults, their families and the complexities of family dynamics. I also work with clients who are experiencing anxiety, stress and grief. My focus in working with my clients has been about setting goals and finding the best coping skills and tools to help them meet their goals.

My style of counseling is honest, compassionate and direct. I view this relationship as a partnership in helping you navigate through your own journey. Our focus will be to identify your strengths and use them to help resolve your issues and reach your therapeutic goals. I understand starting therapy can be hard and I appreciate you trusting me with this process. I look forward to working together.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Joyce Mayne. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Joyce is the best. I’ve got a complicated situation (isn’t that why we’re all here?) but especially socially. Joyce has really been helping me manage my responses to others dynamically, in the moment even. She’s also been helping me a lot with managing my expectations of people realistically, which usually coincides with the former. Above those though, she’s really helped me to think about myself and others with a sharper thought process. Over half a year later with Joyce and I feel I’ve grown much farther in a faster time period, with far less confusion. Thank you Joyce if you’re reading this

She's great. It's very rare for me to feel like I am actually being listened to, but I don't have these concerns or feelings with Joyce. I am glad that I met her.

I highly recommend Joyce as a therapist! It’s been an extremely hard year and she was vital in helping me navigate everything that was happening.

Joyce is such a sincere and authentic person. She truly makes me feel seen and heard, while also being a great balance of being both personable and professional. I feel absolutely no judgment from her, and just feel safe to share what is truly on my mind. She gives practical tools for clients to work on themselves in their daily life, which has been so helpful in my journey of working on my mental health. She is truly an amazing clinician.
