About Me
Hey,
I am Dr. Jude Austin, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas and Virginia as well as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate in Texas. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor and Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I earned my graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in Texas, then went on to earn a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision in Wyoming.
I provide a blend of Gestalt and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy specializing in stress, anxiety, processing past trauma, relationship issues, and clients who struggle to cope with life changes. My clinical experience includes working in community mental health clinics, in-patient mental health clinics, university counseling centers at both predominately white institutions and historically black colleges and universities, and working in diverse metropolitan and rural environments. I am currently working in private practice where I see clients from a variety of backgrounds. In addition to my private practice, I am an educator to graduate students who are pursuing their goal of becoming therapists themselves.
The essence of my approach involves building self and other awareness, as well as life acceptance. I value the therapeutic relationship and working collaboratively. If you are looking to have a deeper connection to who and how you are, then I am excited to walk with you in that process. If you choose to work with me, I will not be interested in changing you. Instead, I am interested in knowing you.

Reviews
Dr. Austin went out of his way to help me through the singularly worst time of my life, I think his guidance literally saved my life. Not only did he tackle what was pressing at the time, but we were able to work through years of unearthed trauma as well. He helped me feel whole again.
Dr. Austin is the best.
