Hi! My name is Judi and I live in Nebraska! Yes, I am a true-blue Cornhusker no matter what! I have had two careers -- they are closely related. My first career was in Human Resources. I worked for several companies in HR and I also had my own business where I provided HR services for small companies on a temporary -- "as needed" -- basis. Then, I returned to college and earned my Master's Degree in Counseling. I thought I would use that degree to move into the field of Employee Relations. However, life took me in a different direction and I started a career in both substance abuse and mental health counseling. I have now been working in these areas for 23 years. I have worked in both outpatient and residential settings. I worked for the Drug Court for nine years as well. I have worked with people of all ages and from all walks of life. I have done a lot of work with corrections. I have facilitated group counseling sessions and I have been an MRT instructor. My approach is always to listen first and try to help my client identify the real problem(s). Then, together we brainstorm some possible solutions. I will support my client's choices, but I am not afraid to respectfully point out discrepancies between what someone says he or she wants and what he or she is willing to do to obtain that goal. Sometimes, we -- all of us -- cannot see how we are getting in our own way. I look forward to the opportunity of working with you! Judi

Judi holds me accountable and asks me questions that force me to be honest with myself, but she’s also patient and kind. I feel safe talking with her.

Judi is knowledgeable and is great at drawing you out. Her experience really shows through as a therapist strong in listening, validating, she's courageous and experienced enough to understand and extend her perceptions and then offer support in information and media to help you understand what's going on inside. Very helpful.
