Warmest greetings and welcome,
My intent is to be a knowledgable and encouraging guide as you make new choices about your life. I teach practical, evidence-based life skills from the latest science of well-being. Once you learn the tools, they are yours forever and you can share them with others. I also honor the wisdom of master teachers from many cultures and across time. My clients are successful because we work together to explore your goals, set a plan, and measure your progress. Act on your knowledge that life can be different and register to work with me.
Before you do, there are four absolutes to which we agree for every session:
Non-judgement- Every person is unique. Your individual journey cannot be created by anyone other than you.
Total Honesty - You can only achieve emotional healing by speaking your truth. You find your truth as you learn new skills. I am your guide.
Focus - Therapy is sometimes hard work. Focus is essential, so, just as if you were in my brick office, phones, media, children, pets or other people are not allowed in your session.
Absolute Confidentiality - Everything revealed or discussed in any session is confidential, unless you seek to harm yourself or others. That we discuss.
I work only with individuals because I believe each person deserves a private time to explore their inner strengths. When you know yourself, you will create healthier relationships. I do not provide counseling to couples or families or teens. I am not the right therapist if your prime discomfort is your own substance, food, or sexual obsessions.
Take advantage of my many years of experience; choose me as your guide by clicking on "Work with Me."

Judy is truly great and I am lucky to have her as my counselor. She listens and provides valuable feedback and advice. This was my first experience with therapy and I initially dreaded the thought of telling someone about my fears and anxiety. In our first meeting Judy instantly made me feel comfortable and I was able to relax and speak honestly. The dread I once felt is completely gone and I now look forward to our conversations.

Judy is probably one of the most intuitive clinicians I have ever encountered. She holds space for all of the things I bring to the table. She challenges me, she supports me, she listens to me and she TEACHES ME. She is purely magical.

Has continued to support and guide the last three years. It's nice sometimes just have someone neutral to talk to, that gives great feedback.

Judy has been a great help for me. I have been able to open up of what is really going on in my head. Once I was able to admit it, I feel so much better. The grief will always be there but I can find the happy of the time my husband and I were together.
I would highly recommend Judy. I have a friend that lost her husband a few months ago and I will be sending her this information.

Written on Sep 17, 2020 after therapy with Judy for 3 weeks on issues concerning depression, relationship issues, and coping with life changes
I have been working with Judy Carran for several months now and really value and appreciate her and her methods. There are several things I initially (and continue to) seek help for including: grief after a serious loss, depression stemming from complicated grief disorder, ADHD management, and more (yes, I AM fun at parties)! ;) Seriously though, I have a lot on my plate (as I’m sure you do as well) and really needed a knowledgeable, experienced counselor to help me manage. Judy truly fit that bill. When we first started meeting, I was in a place of chaos; Judy was instrumental in navigating through that. Now, I’m in a better place and still get so much out of our sessions. Thus, I plan to continue my sessions with Judy for as long as possible.
Judy’s methods are science-based which I appreciate. She takes great notes and always remembers what we’ve talked about (even several month later). This is crucial so that one doesn’t waste time re-explaining things. I never feel like Judy wastes my time in any manner and I always feel like she is truly invested in my happiness and success. Each session, we work together to set benchmarks and goals that add value and quality to my life. I appreciate that she checks in and -- in a kind and loving way -- holds me accountable and motivates me to follow through. :)
If you are looking for a compassionate and effective counselor who will offer real-world solutions, a listening ear, and a hopeful outlook, then look no further; Judy Carran is absolutely wonderful and someone you’ll want on your team! 5 out of 5 stars!

Written on Jun 18, 2019 after therapy with Judy for 2 weeks on issues concerning stress, anxiety, intimacy-related issues, sleeping disorders, parenting issues, self esteem, career difficulties, coaching, and adhd
Judy is patient, kind, and wise. She is knowledgeable and on top of current research and strategies which she implements into my treatment. She is helping me with anxiety, depression, and self confidence. I feel heard, respected, and cared for while working with her. She offers great suggestions and has alternatives when something does not work for me. Judy has been helping me to build a toolbox of skills for a better life while also hearing me out to "get things off my chest". In line with more recent research, she works toward teaching me to build strategies for a happy, fulfilled life, rather than simply aiming for a "non-depressed" life.
