About Me
Hello!
Welcome to the BetterHelp community! My name is Julaine Beatty and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Helena, Montana. I also hold a license in the State of Connecticut and divide my time between states. I began my career in counseling as a Licensed Addiction Counselor in 2008, and have since moved on to providing counseling for mental health and co-occurring diagnoses.
I graduated from Walla Walla University in 2010 with a Master's degree in social work, and worked for several years in Juvenile Corrections and community mental health, as well as managing the Employee Assistance Program for the State of Montana. In March 2016, I opened a private practice in Helena. In addition to providing therapeutic services, I also contract with Montana businesses to provide training on workplace mental health and wellness issues. Over time, a specialty developed in providing support to individual clients experiencing challenges in the workplace.
My approach is client centered and I seek to adjust my approach and style to meet the needs of the person in front of me. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Resilience Training. These modalities are hands-on, practical approaches to problem-solving. CBT treatment involves efforts to change thinking patterns and/ or behaviors. The goals are to change patterns of thinking or behavior behind difficult situations, and so change the way they feel. Resilience Training utilizes CBT, education, and mindfulness to address and shift our stress language from negative to positive. Shifting our mindset about life's stressors , both big and small, is a powerful tool to improve our health. And DBT utilizes mindfulness and other skills to find balance in our emotions and our approach to choices.
Life can be challenging and painful, but also beautiful and fulfilling. I believe in human resilience and our ability to change and grow, and our ability to connect or re-connect with the things that inspire us.

She is amazing
Julainne has been an exceptional help to my mental and emotional health. She helped me come to terms with many issues and think logically about the problems I had been going through. I would 10/10 recommend her.

Thank you for being you
She's just awesome. Really gives me the space to figure things out, while guiding me through them and giving me different perspectives to think through. There's a lot of honest care in our conversations and I appreciate having found a counselor I really connect with and gives me the honesty I need.
Julaine is an excellent councilor, she makes me feel like she truly cares and wants to help.
