While I work with individuals struggling with a range of difficulties, I specialize in anxiety and trauma treatment. I am an EMDR Therapist and I have a collaborative approach incorporating techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. EMDR, short for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is known for helping people heal from trauma and other distressing life experiences.
I have 10+ years of experience helping people create positive and lasting change through individual and group therapy, school-based counseling, and behavior modification programs. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings and with individuals of all ages struggling with a wide variety of challenges including (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, stress, mood instability, concentration issues, impulse control issues, and family conflict as well as trauma and adjustment related issues.

Julia has taught me the tools to manage my anxiety and to facilitate peace and gratitude in my life. The skills I have been learning in our sessions are practical and effective, making a lasting impact in my personal and professional life. Julia holds me accountable to practice self care and continue to grow, as well as maintains a professional and non-judgmental demeanor during those sessions when I am worrying about the little things. In regards to processing and healing through trauma, her guidance through our EMDR sessions has probably made the biggest impact in my life. Julia provided a safe space for me to gradually (and at my own pace) work through some of the most upsetting challenges in my life. I didn't know the weight that I had been carrying around, until it was lifted.
