About Me

Hi and welcome to BetterHelp! I have been practicing as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the past 11 years. I obtained my Master's of Social Work at the University of Maryland in 2008 and have been practicing ever since in both Pennsylvania and New York. I have extensive experience in working with individuals who are struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety, insomnia, relationship issues, addiction, struggles with life transitions, as well as a myriad of other issues that arise in life. I enjoy challenges in my work and always carry hope that together we can work through just about anything.

My counseling style is warm and laid back. I believe in allowing the client to navigate what he or she would like to work on and my role is that of an empathetic support and co-pilot on the journey. I use an eclectic approach and tailor the work to what is appropriate for each client. I often combine cognitive behavioral skills, interpersonal skill evaluation and development, and working through stuck points to find acceptance in my sessions. I believe in an open dialogue throughout the therapeutic process so I welcome feedback about what is working and what is not. I have been told that I am very approachable and hope you will feel comfortable working with me as well.

The decision to seek therapy can be a scary one. My hope is to provide a comfortable and safe environment for you to do the work that you came here to do. I offer no judgement, just empathy and understanding and a helping hand to find the right path for you.

Julie is a wonderful listener, and has a gentle way of guiding me to ideas and options my own mind isn't able to see clearly.
