About Me

Welcome! I am a license clinical social worker with 7 years experience working with children and adults. I believe in using evidenced based practices to help people cope with changes in their lives. Mental health has been stigmatized as something for other people. I see it as a tool that can benefit anyone. It is no different than using the dentist or doctor. We all need help dealing with complicated feelings and life is full of complicated situations. It can be especially difficult when situations feel uncontrollable or cast upon us. My counseling style is informed by humanism, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing among other theories. I believe in the power of the human mind to heal with support that comes from an unconditional positive regard. I will do my best to help you work through your current situation. Let's get started!

Best,
Julie Dorneman

Julie has been wonderful to work with and learn from. She is incredibly easy to talk to and has been very helpful in understanding the therapeutic process. It has been great having someone to encourage more openmindedness and kindness towards myself while teaching me the skills needed to address my anxiety.

Can't say enough good things about Julie. She listens. She takes up for me when I'm beating up on myself. She validates my feelings and is ready with practical ideas to help me in the journey to feeling better.

The best therapy experience I have ever had. I feel completely comfortable and not judges to be 100% myself and get the help I need.

I have only had 2 sessions with Julie but enjoy being able to talk to someone about the stressors going on in my life. While I like her, I am not sure I will continue after my month is up due to money and the fact that I think I might person to person counseling better for myself.

She really does care about people. If she can't help you. She will find someone who can. She's a good therapist worth talking to and sometimes that's hard to find.

Julie has been the best. Very chill and easy to talk to. Her sessions feel like you’re talking with a friend who just happens to be a therapist.
