About Me

I'm Dr. Julie Kinn, a licensed clinical and research psychologist who specializes in short-term treatment of adjustment disorder, depression, anxiety, and sleep disorders using cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. I am known for my sense of humor and my research on health technology. In addition to helping you make reasonable changes, I can help identify safe apps and other health technology resources for you to continue your growth.

I have worked with adults, children, teens, and their families since 2000. I am sex-positive, encouraging, and warm in every interaction.

I can't say enough good things about Julie. She is so patient, kind, and FUNNY! Plus, she is really flexible about what I want to work on. I like that everything she does is based on science and she will explain what she is doing and why. Plus, she sends me all her notes after every session so there's no secret file or anything like that. I was nervous about talking to a complete stranger, but this is more likle talking to a close friend who really listens and helps me come up with ideas. TRY THERAPY!!!! Go with Julie!

As a Veteran it was EXTREMELY helpful to assign me to someone who has extensive experience working with soldiers. She has been understanding and is good at steering the conversation in the needed direction. Fully recommend her

So far Dr. Kinn has helped me tremendously in the short amount of time we have met. She has helped me understand that what I experience is normal, and acceptable. That I shouldn’t feel guilt over the things that I want, enjoy, and need. I didn’t have to worry about the whole “tell me your problems” portion of the first session due to her reading and responding to text messages. The session we have live are extremely rewarding because I am able to talk to her about my week, as the week is progressing, rather than all at once in a short 45 minute session. I feel she is much more able to address my concerns and figure out what matters in those live sessions vs. what can be handled via texting. Couldn’t have more positive things to say! Outstanding!
