About Me

I am clinical psychologist licensed in Florida with over 10 years of experience. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, phase of life issues, and trauma. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, positive, and quality of life counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

In my time off I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and taking advantage of our beautiful outdoors environment and activities. I'm involved in the privilege , and challenge, of helping to raise two fun and unique children. Traditional labels for them would be "stepchildren" but "bonus children" better describes what they are to me: they have truly been an unexpected bonus to my life!

Firstly, I would say that I recommend therapy to everyone. But the convenience of BetterHelp is like no other. There are different options other than just messaging. Dr. Parker has been the exact voice I need in my life currently. She has a way to totally unpack my complicated emotions, gives great recommendations on how to work through those feelings, and mostly she is very honest and real with me. She doesn't tell me what I WANT to hear, she tells me what I NEED to hear. And in this day in age, that is priceless.

If there were a "Best All Around" award for counselors, Dr. Parker would have it. She takes the time to understand not just what I feel, but how I experience those feelings. She doesn't force me to see things from her perspective, instead she helps me navigate my own life in the healthiest, but also the most realistic way. If you're like me and you just want to better understand yourself in hopes for a more positive life, I think Dr. Parker's approach will benefit you as much as it has already benefitted me.

Julie is excellent. She has responded to my written messages within 24 hours. We had a 30 minute phone conversation which was very helpful. She gave me concrete steps to help me begin the process of understanding my thoughts and feelings. She's better than anyone I've seen in person and I really like this format.

I think Dr. Parker is a great counselor. She knows how to help you figure out your own goals and helps guides you in meeting them. She is usually pretty quick to respond and gives exercises for you to work on and recommends books to read on you own time.
