About me

Hello, my name is Julie Ramsey and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of experience working as a Psychotherapist. I maintain that therapy should be an authentic experience, and the clients need to be heard, valued and validated. I practice a balance of basic empathy and unconditional positive regard. I am skillful in performing individual, marital and group counseling sessions. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Bipolar, anger and stress, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, substance abuse, grief counseling, batterers intervention and victim interventions. I have helped many people who have experienced physical trauma and/ or emotional abuse. I am passionate about building trust and rapport with my clientele through non-judgmental approach and compassionate interpersonal skills. I have been told I am easy to talk to. I enjoy helping individuals meet their desired outcomes. The Evidence based modalities I have utilized include Motivational interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy , Trauma-focused Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Gestalt Therapy. I also have several years of experience in Basic Life Skills counseling such as anger and stress management, self-esteem enhancement and assertive communication.

One of the questions I put strongly disagree because I misread it at first and didn’t mean to put that and it wouldn’t let me go back to change it! She does reply in a timely matter! She is a wonderful therapist! No complaints here!
