About me

I am a dedicated LMHC who has experience working with LGBTQ+, People of Color (POC), and HIV+ populations, mental health (in both inpatient and outpatient settings), and chemical dependency/dual diagnosis clients (in both inpatient and outpatient settings).

I am a very outgoing person as well as a compassionate and empathetic person-centered caregiver. My counseling style is direct and interactive and uses humor therapeutically. My therapeutic approach combines solution focused, cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral counseling. Additionally, I am trained in domestic violence, LGBTQ+ issues, BIPOC issues, teaching assertive communication skills, veterans issues (I am a veteran of the US Army), and chronic pain and disabilities.

It always takes an open mind and a courageous heart to step outside of your comfort zone and look to someone else for help. I look forward to helping you on your journey to discovery, recovery and healing. I have personally struggled with depression and anxiety for the majority of my life, thus giving me a much more in-depth understanding of these hefty diagnoses. I hope to talk with you soon. Take good care in the meantime.

Julie is an incredibly thoughtful and just extremely pleasant person. She often helps me see things in a completely different light and challenges me to think about things differently than how I had originally perceived them. I frequently leave our sessions feeling much, much better. Could not recommend her more!

Julie Robbins is a very understanding and relatable person to speak with. Personally I don't feel judged nor ashamed for what I discuss and she is able to make me feel as if I were talking with a friend.
