Welcome! My name is Justina and I am a bilingual (Spanish and English) licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas. I have had over 13 years experience working in the mental health field. I have worked in a variety of settings including private practice, residential, inpatient, outpatient, university, military & family life counseling, Central and South American immigrant emergency shelters, LGBT, marriage and family life, and addictions. I have had experience working with a broad range and severity of clinical issues. I also have experience working with anxiety, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anger management, family conflict, relationship conflicts, and complex trauma/abuse. I also have experience working with depression, intellectual/developmental disabilities, mild autism, and immigration/acculturation issues.
My dedication to the field of mental health stems from my personal experience with it. I grew up with parents and family members living with mental illness and I have personally overcome some mental health challenges over the course of my lifetime, too. I know firsthand that having mental health concerns can be difficult. There is still so much stigma around having mental health issues, the process for getting help can be overwhelming, and it can feel so frustrating and lonely. That is why I am here: to tell you that, though life changes, those changes can be wonderful, and I am a testament to finding support and taking small steps to taking care of yourself.
I use a person-centered, solution-focused, holistic, multicultural, and cognitive behavioral approach in treatment, which means I meet you where you are and tailor the treatment approach to your needs while being sensitive to how your own personal cultural identities and lifestyle choices impact your experience. I primarily use evidence based techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused counseling. I would describe my style as friendly and supportive, but I am also prepared to receive and assist you in overcoming your struggles from the get-go. We can work together at prioritizing, setting goals, and achieving them, at your pace!

Justina is so kind. She listens and is caring. I appreciate her ability to decipher my crazy and helps me to be better. Justina also provides references for tools to utilize.
Justina has been instrumental in my emotional healing and growth. She meets me where I’m at and has so much patience and kindness, along with constructive feedback and encouragement to give. So grateful for her!
Justina has been nothing but wonderful for all of my phone sessions! I only have good to say about her and would highly recommend.
Justina is so thoughtful, attententive, and understanding about everything going on in my life! Justina has really profoundly helped me understand the way I think and function, and has done immeasurable good in setting me on the path to mental health and wellbeing.
Justina Heredia is absolutely wonderful. This is my first time seeking mental help so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but she has been an absolute dream to work with; extremely kind, patient, considerate to my thoughts/feelings, and welcoming to anything I have to say. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone, especially those feeling particularly vulnerable, or nervous to start therapy.
Justina is the best therapist I've ever had. I grew up with mental illness starting at age 8 and have seen numerous therapists over the course of my life. I truly feel she is one of the best. It feels natural talking to her, she is very sensitive to cultural issues, and she does a good job of making me feel comfortable (which is hard). I would recommend Justina to literally anyone.
She is amazing. I was weary of trying out the whole online therapy thing as I hated my experience with therapy in the past and how it left me feeling worse after than when I first came in. If it weren’t for a coworker whose judgement I absolutely trusted in recommending Justina, I would still feel lonely, misunderstood, shame and guilt over things I’d felt i had zero control over. Justina has changed my opinion on many things and yet I’ve only told her about perhaps 2 of them. Thank goodness for people like her as I didn’t think anyone could help me. Do yourself a favor and please request her.
Justina is a calming force and has great suggestions for overcoming anxiety issues and tackling other emotional challenges as well. Very grateful to have her as my counselor!
