About Me
Hello, I am a licensed mental health counselor who has been providing therapy to young adults in the college setting for the past 8 years. I believe that with a healthy perspective, life’s most difficult challenges, painful emotions, and even our own imperfections can shape us towards becoming our best selves. True peace and happiness can come once we become open to what our experiences can teach us and once we begin to seek that positive change for ourselves. It is my pleasure to begin helping you along the way on your journey.
I have a supportive and collaborative approach where I believe that once you realize your own strengths and are ready for positive change, anything is possible.
My theoretical framework is integrative, but I most often work from a cognitive-behavioral, psycho-dynamic, and strengths-based approach. I often draw on mindfulness concepts with special attention to the powerful mind-body connection. Although I am happy to assist with a variety of concerns, my special areas of interest include stress management, behavioral change, anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, identity development, body image concerns, and disordered eating.

Katie Bourgoin has been amazing. She is the best counselor I've had the pleasure of working with. I have a very busy and conflicting schedule and she always makes time for me and that means a great deal to me. I feel very lucky to have found her.
Seeking out counseling for the first time made me nervous for numerous reasons. After meeting with Katie a few times my outlook regarding counseling completely changed. She’s never judgemental and has an arsenal of tools to help with anxiety, grief and loss, and personal growth. I’m thankful for the work we’ve done so far and meeting with her has become one of the best parts of my weekly schedule.
Kadie is extremely kind and a caring professional. From day 1, she has always listened to me intently and is always open and welcome to what I have to say. I can already see improvements in my overall mood and mental health after only a few sessions, because she is so positive and gives such great advice and tools to help meet my needs. I would highly recommend her to my friends and loved ones, I am so grateful I sought out help and started working with her!
Kadie has helped me so much. I look forward to our sessions each week. I would advise anyone to utilize her and this program, especially during these difficult times.
This was my first experience with counseling and Kadie was the perfect introduction into therapy. She was a great listener and made me feel comfortable while providing helpful techniques to incorporate into my daily life. It felt like I was talking to a friend as she was understanding, warm and helpful in my time of need.
Kadie is very professional, competent, and always makes me feel great at the end of every session.
