I currently work in Pennsylvania as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and have had the wonderful opportunity to work within the mental health/human services field for 10+ years. I enjoy the rewarding environment that working within the mental health field provides along with the fulfillment of helping people on their journey to positive wellness.
I obtained my Professional Counselor License in 2014 in the state of Pennsylvania after completing my graduate schooling at St. Bonaventure University (New York) for my Masters in Science and Education, Community Based Mental Health Counseling. I am currently employed as a full-time Outpatient Therapist and also work part-time as a Private Practice Therapist as part of an LLC.
I treat all clients in a holistic manner. I try to make sure that every person I meet with receives a combination of cognitive, behavioral, psycho-education about medical/genetics/neurology if applicable for their individual situation. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism, personality disorders, and family based conflicts. I do not hesitate to incorporate additional professionals as needed. For example, asking a client to obtain blood work for certain medical influences for depression. I believe in rapport building and providing empowerment in difficult situations. I treat all people as individuals and look for personal strengths that help build a solid foundation for growth.
I have completed training programs in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy and also fully trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I feel comfortable with treating trauma symptoms and the PTSD population. I also have an extensive background working with teens and young adults with diagnosis ranging across the board from adjustment issues to chronic depression or anxiety. I am confident in providing individual, couples, and family therapy using evidence based models/interventions. I utilize Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, CPT, and EMDR, plus additional tracking forms as applicable. It is my goal to help understand individual symptoms early so support and stabilization can increase in a natural way if available. I often assign worksheets and homework. I believe that it is a helpful tool for people to have between sessions and to help keep positive momentum between meeting times.
My experience assisting different types of people with diverse life situations has prepared me to support people who find themselves in need of counseling. I strive to give each person the best opportunity for success and realize how difficult it can be to take the first step. I am here ready to help and empower anyone who is ready to take that initial step on a positive journey.
I look forward to working with you!
